พิพิธภัณฑ์ Barber Motorsports Museum : World’s Largest Motorcycle collection และส่วนหนึ่งของ racing cars ที่รัฐ Alabama
สวัสดีครับ เพื่อนสมาชิกทุกท่าน วันนี้จะพาท่านไปเที่ยวในดินแดนที่เป็นกลิ่นอายของเครื่องยนต์กลไกในหลายๆรูปแบบ
Barber Motorsports Museum หรือ Barber Vintage Motorsport Museum
เปิดตัวสู่สาธารณะชนในปี 1994 โดย George Barber ได้เริ่มสะสมเป็น Barber’s private collection จากปี 1988
ปัจจุบันพิพิธภัณฑ์แห่งนี้ได้มีวินเทจ/โมเดิ้ร์นมอเตอร์ไซค้มากกว่า 1,450 คัน และรวมถึง racing cars อีกมากมาย
ตัวอาคารถูกออกแบบในแนวคอนเทมโพรารี่ 5 ชั้น และ เบสเม้นท์ที่เป็น shop ซ่อมบำรุงและกิจกรรมพิเศษการจัดโชว์ได้ถูกจัดไว้ในอาคาร5ชั้น รวมถึง ผนัง คาน ขื่อ หรือแม้กระทั้งซอกมุมเล็กๆ
ด้านหลังของตัวอาคารคือสนามแข่งที่มีความยาว3.83กม.16โค้ง โดยมี world champion racers John Surtees and Dan Gurney เป็นที่ปรืกษาในการออกแบบสนามแข่ง สนามแห่งนี้ยังเป็น North American Porsche Driving School อีกทั้งยังเป็นสนามทีมักถูกหลาย บ.ยักษ์ใหญ่ ใช้ในการเปิดตัวรถใหม่
